Making an A5 Scallop Card
You will need the Spellbinders 'Grand Calibur' and Nestabilities Dies LF 127-'Grand Scalloped Squares' Die 5-one being the largest. If you are lucky enough to get hold of one of the clear A4 plates from Oyster, use this and the Blue base plate from the Calibur. If not use the white cutting plate from the Calibur and a C plate from Provocraft (Cuttlebug). The reason for the 'clear' plate is so that you can see exactly where the plate and the die are in relation to the cut that you want to make.

2
Take a sheet of A4 and score and then fold in half. - Place the Nestabilities Dies LF 127 'Grand Scalloped Squares', Die 5 (one being the largest) on the top of your pre-scored and folded card. Make sure that the scallops run close to the top and down the OPEN edge of the A5 card. Using low tack tape, tape into place.
3
Place the clear plate over the scallop die, avoiding the scallops on the bottom of the die. If the plate covers this area it WILL cut it, which is something you want to avoid. Place the sandwich in the Calibur and start cutting, but not all the way through. You might not be able to guess where the last scallop is so TOP TIP:-if you can see the edge of the die in front of you, reverse before it disappears into the machine.
4
Remove from the machine and turn the sandwich over to check to ensure that it has been cut all the way through. If not Pass it through again. Once cut through remove the tape and the die. Turn the card, so that the cut edge is now at the bottom and move the die to the uncut section. The cut scallops will 'lock' into place which will help will lining up. Tape into place and repeat the cutting process. DO NOT forget to reverse once you have cut the required area.

5
Remove the sandwich from the machine. Again check to ensure that the card has been cut all the way through before removing the Die. Your card is now complete. Once you have mastered this technique you can make half A5, DL and these A5 Scallop cards. You can also experiment with cutting apertures from these shaped cards too

Making Easel cards with the Spellbinders Grand Calibur
You need the Grand Calibur and the Nestabilities LF-114 Grand Circles, Die 6 (one being the largest), to make this fold back card.
Calibur1
Calibur 1:-Take a sheet of A4 card and score in half, marking the A5 card line. To help line up the centre of the circle die with the centre of the front panel of the card, make a mark at the halfway point of the top of the card, DO NOT score the whole line.
Calibur2
Calibur 2:- Take die 6 (one being the largest) from the Nestabilities LF-114 Grand Circles dies and using masking tape, tape into position in the centre of the card.
Calibur3
Calibur 3:-Place the card and the die on the cutting plate (Blue if you have the clear A4 Oyster plate, white if you have a Cuttlebug C plate). Position the Clear plate over the half of the die, nearest the open edge of the card and pass through the Grand Calibur. The Die will ONLY cut where the clear plate is over the top of the die and the base plate is underneath.
Calibur4
Calibur 4:- Use the clear plate as a straight edge ruler and score a line from the edge of the cut circle to the edge of the card.
Calibur 5
Calibur 5:- Fold back the front edge of the card, to reveal the half cut disc. Calibur 6:- You can use the 6th die or the 7th die to cut the perfect mat to place in the centre of the circle on the front of the card. If you have the Nestabilities S4-114 Classic Standard Circle Dies (large) or S4-116 Standard Circle Small you can make even smaller and smaller mats. Calibur 7:- You can use this technique to make shaped Easel cards. Place the Clear plate over the half of the Nestabilities Grand Circle/Square die nearest the spine of the card. Place the clear plate only over the section that you want to cut out. Again you can use the remainder dies from the Grand sets or from the Original sets to make the perfect mats. Once you have mastered this technique you will be able to make many different sized and shaped cards.
